Assalamu Alaikum,
My name is Crystal Daulton I’ve been a member of the antelope valley Muslim community for 7 years. I attended the Los Angeles training institute for Alcohol and drug counseling where I studied addiction counseling and received my certificate in addictions studies. I currently work for Clarematrix as a drug and alcohol counselor, helping women rehabilitate and rebuild their lives. I currently attend Antelope Valley College where I am studying sociology. This degree prepares me to serve as a social, and community service manager, social worker, and mental health counselor (just to name a few.) Insha Allah I plan on expanding my education to obtain a master’s degree in social work to continue to serve our community.
I feel my education and experience would make me a good fit for Lancaster Masjids Board of director’s. Not only would this position give me more experience and the pleasure to serve but I also would add, and represent, members of our community that may go unheard. I would like to implement and design drug and alcohol prevention and education services for Muslims in our community who may not know where to turn. I also would like to create Islamic youth groups where our young Muslim brothers and sisters can express themselves and learn how to navigate through society as a young Muslim dealing with social pressures, such as drugs, peer pressure etc. I am ready for a new challenge and look forward to serving you.
